Again, the Darkling shook his head. “You two make it so easy. I prick him, you bleed.”

“And you can’t begin to understand that, can you?”

He reached out and tapped the Morozova’s collar, letting his fingers brush the skin of my throat. Even that faint touch opened the connection between us, and a rush of power vibrated through me like a bell being struck.

“I understand enough,” he said softly.

I should have anticipated another betrayal from you, one more mad grasp at some kind of childish ideal. But I seem to be a victim of my own wishes where you are concerned.

"She’s the closest thing I’ve had to a friend in a long time."

The Sun Summoner

Hard to convey just how much I love this, especially as a companion to the first piece. Beautiful <3

Took a break from working to draw some Alina and Genya fun fun girl times! I rarely crave female company, but Genya made me really want my ladyfriends around to chill with.

These lovely gals of SHADOW AND BONE belong to the even lovelier Leigh Bardugo! Genya is also wearing one of the lovely cuffs designed by Hebel Design. You can get your own and more at her page!

“What are you smiling at?”
I whirled, peering into the gloom. The Darkling’s voice seemed to float out of the shadows. He walked down to the stream, crouching on the bank to splash water on his face and through his dark hair.
“Well?” He asked, looking up at me.
“Myself,” I admitted.
“Are you that funny?”
“I’m hilarious.”
